FABTECH 2025 Recap: ALM in Action
Walking into FABTECH 2025, you couldn’t help but feel the energy. The event brought thousands of industry professionals to Chicago this September, filling the show floor with energy, innovation and forward-looking conversations. The atmosphere reflected an industry eager to adopt new automation technologies and explore more efficient, productive workflows.
For ALM Positioners, it was one of the most engaging FABTECH experiences yet. From start to finish, our booth drew steady interest, reinforcing both the value of automation in fabrication and the demand for solutions engineered for real-world production needs.
A booth that never stopped moving
Activity stayed consistent at the ALM Positioners booth throughout all four days, with demonstrations running continuously – sometimes three or four times an hour.
What set this year apart was the focus of those interactions. Attendees came with clear goals, many in the middle of expansion projects or searching for solutions to specific bottlenecks. Some had already researched ALM before arriving, making the trip with the intention of seeing our positioners in action and exploring how they could streamline their own operations.
Highlights from the booth included:
- Head and Tail Stock Positioners: Attracted strong interest as attendees pictured their own parts mounted and rotating.
- VIKI OS and COBOT: Demonstrated collaborative automation that allows operators to control workflows more efficiently while maintaining safety.
- 5K Single Column Precision Positioner: Valued for its accuracy and control, this positioner stood out as a reliable solution for improving repeatability and overall weld quality.
The power of focused innovation
One moment that perfectly captured our FABTECH experience was during a brief meeting, when some team members peeked around the corner of our booth and saw every inch of space around our machines filled with engaged professionals. Attendees were watching demonstrations and discussing applications, exploring how ALM’s positioners’ specific features could integrate into their existing workflows.
This energy highlighted a key trend, showing that while collaborative robots dominated the show floor, the demonstrations that drew the most attention were those offering tangible, measurable improvements. That’s where our approach stood out by focusing on machines that are intuitive, flexible and responsive to operator needs.
Building on momentum
Returning from Chicago, our team is energized by the connections and insights FABTECH provided. Our sales team is cultivating connections made during the event and turning those discussions into lasting partnerships, while our development team integrates insights gathered from attendees into refinements and future developments.
The momentum from FABTECH 2025 is clear, showing that manufacturers are ready for solutions that make automation practical, adaptable and effective.
